I have been a customer with this, same location for many years. When I first visited, your policy was to pull the customer into the work area, in an attempt to up sell services, under the guise of caring about the customer's vehicle. That may work when your mechanics are articulate, and can speak from a level of authority. I'm sure you well know, most mechanics, although talented in their particular trade, don't make great communicators. At that point, I was basically insulted by that business practice. I did later return to this location due to convenience. I called around to get a car serviced and your place was the only one, able to fit within MY time frame. After the service was completed, I was again pitched with the corporate, up sell. As the mechanic began his sell job, I interrupted him with 'I'm not interested', before he could finish. I spent many years in the advertising / marketing business. I can see the value for you company, in the up sell approach. However, this would need excessive improvement, to win over more customers. At that time, I had spoken to many friends and acquaintances who had the same experience, and agreed that the up sell was so obviously a set up, and a time waster for the customer. I have many times, watched the up sell being used on other customers. It obviously works on those, who have little mechanical knowledge, but it appears to be underhanded. Many times, I witnessed customers saying yes to what was pitched, just to get it over and go home, because they didn't know any better. You got their money, but not ethically. I still consider myself a repeat customer, but it's because of your occasional pricing deals, and I NO longer get the up sell speech.
